Dark Smokey eye

SMOKEY EYE

How to achieve a Dark Smokey eye look. I personally love dark dramatic looks, usually for the night. I'm not saying you can't use a Smokey eye during the day BUT I do feel a person looks over done if the makeup is too dark. There's all kinds of Smokey eyes going from light to dark, from simple to dramatic. There's allot of ways and today I will be referencing only to a dark Smokey look.

I personally love a dark Smokey eye the darker the better. I usually start with a base, what I mean by a base is a dark eyeliner a NYX jumble pencil or a gel liner could work also. I usually apply a base to maintain  the intensity of the eye shadow. So in this case I would use a black base. I apply the base as close to the lash line as possible I refuse to use liquid liner on to of all the eye shadow. I love using fake lashes so the base also helps to get the lash line covered and ready for the lashes.

you could do a Smokey eye in what ever color you like I love Dark so any dark purple, black, blue or green are my favorite. the dominant color would go all over the your lid. I usually apply a bit past my crease. The reason is so it looks really dark and so you don't loose the color when you open your eyes. I use a brown color close to my skin tone to blend the dark color. You get a better looking transition because your blending the dark color with a color that is not so noticeable. Then u could top and keep blending with a warm brown eye shadow that will give your look some dimension and  as you apply it helps blend more so you get a flawless look.
Highlight is also important you don't what the look to be so shimmery or so white. I feel a vanilla color gives you the perfect highlight and the perfect intensity for a dark dramatic look. Also personally I don't like extra glittery shades for highlights you could over do it and look like a disco ball!!! I also use a bit of the vanilla color and apply to the inter tear duct gives a bit of brightness to the dark eye. Of course the look cant be finished without lashes I feel the lashes get lost when the look is to dark so for that reason alone I wear lashes and of course because the lashes give the look a lot more glam.
